Whiney Marco Rubio says a Dylan Mulvaney Instagram video will end the global balance of power

Over the past two weeks, Republicans have been tripping over themselves to show that they’re outraged that several major brands would market to LGBTQ+ people and work with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) just claimed on Fox News that the U.S. will be abandoned by its allies because of a video Mulvaney did with some beer cans.

Nike, Bud Light, and Jack Daniel’s are all too gay and trans now.

“What is what we’re focused on as a culture?” Rubio asked on Sean Hannity’s show. “We’re focused on the fact that now some man pretending to be a woman gets paid millions of dollars to sell Nike sports bras and Bud Light.”

Rubio was referring to a video Mulvney posted to her Instagram in which she showed off a few custom beer cans Bud Light sent her with her face on them. A few days later, she posted a video to TikTok dancing around outdoors in Nike leggings (Rubio was incorrect in saying that the partnership was for sports bras).

The videos weren’t parts of larger ad campaigns, and Rubio’s claim that Mulvaney made “millions” from the videos is unsubstantiated.

But that was not the last claim he made about Mulvaney’s partnership with Bud Light that was unsubstantiated: He also claimed that other countries are considering abandoning their alliances with the U.S. over an Instagram video.

“So the world looks at that and says, ‘This place is a laughingstock,’ and they react to it,” he said, not providing any examples of a nation saying anything about the Mulvaney/Bud Light partnership.

“And I could go on for an hour about all the things that we are being embarrassed on the world stage, our adversaries are taking advantage of it, and our friends are saying, ‘Hey, we might have to go out on our own here because these guys look like they’re about to commit societal suicide.'”

Rubio was mocked by many people on Twitter for what people perceived as a lack of seriousness.
