When I Grow Up I Wanna Be An ………….INTIMACY CORDINATOR

When I was a teen in high school, I was confronted by a Careers Counselor who insisted I reveal what my chosen profession was to be.  I was only just 14 years old and in the words of Clark Gable, ‘Frankly I didnt give a damn.’ Now, looking back at those (carefree) days, I realize how limited our options were then, and as the world kept expanding, so did the career opportunities.  For example, in my adolescent days, the choices were limited by society’s needs at the time.  I couldn’t become say a computer engineer as computers were yet to surface,  and although I was already passionate about cinema, I couldn’t become say an Intimacy Coordinator as (a) sex was something we rarely saw at the movies and (b) and also something NEVER talked about at home.  How my generation ever had children is still a mystery to me

BUT its never too late  (well maybe about computers) and so I jumped at the chance of going on a two-day intensive course on how to be an Intimacy coordinator in Lisbon, Portugal.  This is still a relative new skill, having surfaced in 2018 as a result of all the Me2 scandals.

We will be provided wth invaluable insights into the role of intimacy coordination, including best practices, communication strategies, and techniques for creating a safe environment on set. Drawing from the Course leaders extensive experience, this workshop is an essential opportunity for directors, producers, actors and industry professionals.  There is no mention in the literature whether this is for straight or gay sex (presuming they know there is a difference)/  And my other concern is the source is restricted to 25 people max ….. so how does that work if we have to do ‘homework’ at night?    https://filmlab.fest.pt/upcoming_workshop.php?workshop_id=27
