One of the major disadvantages of Social Media is that it’s run by anonymous geeks who can strike out at you at any time and without any recourse. Since we started QUEERGURU back in 2014 we have found that the noose around our necks has got tighter and tighter, and for one reason only, we are a very proud QUEER site.

Our content, both original and curated, has always focused on what matters to our community and it is important to us that it’s inclusive of everyone on the LGBTQA+ spectrum. We hope we inform, educate, entertain, and provoke in the quirky Brit style that sets us out from other queer sites.  Your feedback tells us that we are very successful most of the time….. and we know to our cost, that you are not slow in coming forward if you don’t agree

Like most of our readers , every since we came out of the closet to be our true selves, we have been aware of how the sex part of homosexuality is important to us. We include this in our content. and I know from our mailbag that many of you would like us to do more.  BUT the Social Media geeks who get more homophobic and transphobic as time passes, want to see none of it at all.

Rather than cut that content out, we made the decision last year to ONLY include it on our website https://www.queerguru.com,  and on our newsletters.  It was too little and too late, and a couple of months ago YouTube simply banned our QUEERGURU channel and it disappeared overnight without a trace.  Some 2300 videos that we have filmed over the past 10 years, and the loyal customer base we had built up.

It included exclusive interviews with the likes of Leslie Jordan, Cynthia Nixon, Jennifer Coolidge, Bob Mackie, Claybourne Elder,  Joel Kim Booster, Mink Stole, John Waters, Sister Roma, Alec Mapa, Tom Goss, Judy Shephard, Larry Kramer, Dustin Lance Black, Steve Grand, Pam Ann,  Jerry Buttimer Leader of Irish Senate, Bruce Vlanch, Tab Hunter,  Greg Louganis, Matt Alber,  Matteo Lane and Margaret Cho etc etc

So we are now painstakingly putting  them all back on our new You Tube channel : its a time consuming  job  (we’ve got 270+ posted already).  We also learnt a very tough lesson of not backing the videos up as  we were heartbroken to discover some of our very favorite ones have gone for ever.
