Kylie Jenner has been accused of copying Trixie Mattel’s makeup line after fans noticed similarities between the pair’s lip glosses.

The reality star gave fans a sneak peek of Kylie Cosmetics’ upcoming Valentine Collection on Instagram, which included heart-shaped packaging for a range of lip glosses.

Fans of Mattel, who exploded to fame after appearing on RuPaul’s Drag Race, criticised the collection for bearing similarities to her line Trixie Cosmetics, which the drag icon began in 2019.

One Twitter user said: “The way Kylie Jenner has literally never had an original idea or concept and relies on the brilliance of queer people and their ideas to profit off of and pretend they’re her own concepts.”

Although neither Trixie Mattel nor Kylie Jenner have explicitly said anything about fans’ comments, Mattel did post a Twitter video entitled “breaking my silence and addressing the situation”.

In it, the RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3 winner applied her own lip gloss, while looking visibly confused at Jenner’s new release in the background.

The criticism of Jenner’s makeup collection comes after her swimwear line was slated by fans for being “poor quality”.

Trixie Mattel made headlines last year after she stepped in to save a historic LGBT+ bar after it suffered losses due to the pandemic.

The drag star is now the co-owner of Wisconsin’s oldest queer bar This Is It! after it tried to crowdfund to stay afloat.

Mattel told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that she didn’t want to see the bar suffer the same fate as many other LGBT+ venues have during the pandemic.

She said several drag queens in the area made the bar, which opened in 1968, their “happy hour moment before we had to put on the wig and go do the drag show”.

She added: “My relationship is such that sometimes I will come from General Mitchell [Milwaukee’s airport] to the bar with my bags.”

Mattel said she plans to use her celebrity status and business savvy to help make the venue a “destination”.
