The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are celebrating Easter in SF by crowning The Hunky Jesus

Easter in San Francisco means only one thing. Their beloved Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will be celebrating the 46th Anniversary of Easter in the Park. This year is even more special as in recognition of our trans brothers and sisters who are under seige, the theme is “No Easter Without The T”

The day kicks off on Easter Sunday in Dolores Park with Children’s Easter, featuring an egg hunt and (of course) the Easter Bunny. The stage show begins at noon featuring emcees Honey Mahogany, Alex U Inn and Sister Roma. In keeping with this year’s theme, “No Easter Without The T,” the live show will feature a stellar lineup of transgender and gender-nonconforming performers, including trans opera star Breanna Elys

Sinclair, Ronnie Reddick Presents “I’m Every Woman” featuring The Ladies of AsiaSF. At the heart of this extraordinary affair stands the Hunky Jesus Contest—a spectacle where charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent blend into one big dollop of divine absurdity. Picture participants, both local heroes and international audacious types, strutting their stuff in hopes of being named the most ‘heavenly’ hunk of a Jesus. The creativity knows no bounds, with contestants adopting themes as diverse as Jesus meets Prince (complete with a purple robe to rival royalty) to Poppers Jesus and Jesus, the Cosmic Cowboy. Throw in a little shirtless action, an inclusion of gospel, and you’ve got an Easter party that truly is a resurrection of spectacular wit.

The Sisters’ Easter in the Park is FREE, and all are welcome. Sisters will collect donations to help cover expenses and contribute to our Community Grants Fund, supporting organizations and worthy causes throughout the Bay Area and beyond.
