The exchange comes amidst public interest in Mendes’ personal life, including his past relationships with singers Camila Cabello and Sabrina Carpenter. In October, Mendes addressed his audience during a performance at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre, discussing the public’s speculation about his sexuality.

Mendes’ comment on Bad Bunny’s photo comes as both artists have released new music. Mendes’ self titled album, “Shawn,” reached No. 26 on the Billboard 200 albums chart in November. Bad Bunny’s latest release, “Debí Tirar Más Fotos,” debuted at the top of the charts in January.
