Rihanna and Fenty Beauty are trolling fans with their latest Super Bowl-themed post.

After it was announced that the “Work” singer would headline the US Super Bowl’s half-time show in February, the Navy got very excited.

The news of Rihanna’s first live performance in a number of years marks a return to music for the singer-turned-beauty mogul.

Fans will be hoping to hear her biggest hits during her set at State Farm Stadium in Arizona next year – and there’s also hopes of new material.

Following the announcement Fenty Beauty teased fans with a photoshopped version of Rihanna’s original post, which confirmed she’ll be the headlining.

The post features Rihanna’s tattooed hand, but instead of holding a football, she’s holding a Fenty Beauty product, possibly confirming the fans’ worst nightmare.

So, is this confirmation that Rihanna will spend her set doing makeup tutorials and promoting Fenty Beauty? Or will we finally get a live performance from the pop icon?

Well, the Navy had many opinions underneath the post on Twitter with one replying: “don’t you dare.”

Another said: “I’m really starting to think Rihanna’s not actually performing at the superbowl and it’s just a big Fenty beauty advertisement.”

Other replies included, “girl you aren’t funny”, “is this a joke to you” and “why are you doing this to us”.

Somebody else joked that they want Rihanna and Rihanna only, telling Fenty Beauty: “this is not a group project.”

“Avon lady thinks she’s so funny,” another fan replied.

The news was confirmed earlier this week by the NFL, which described Rihanna as a “once in a generation artist who has been a cultural force throughout her career”.

While the singer posted a picture of herself on Instagram holding a football alongside the simple caption ‘period’.
