Out councilman resigns after being caught urinating on popular gay bar, allegedly assaulting staff

An out elected official from Crescenta Valley in Los Angeles has resigned after being identified as one of two men who allegedly urinated on the employee entrance of a popular LA gay bar before getting into a physical altercation with a member of the bar’s staff.

The eclectic downtown outpost opened with high hopes.

“Today, Councilmember Chris Kilpatrick tendered his resignation from the Crescenta Valley Town Council. This resignation was accepted effective immediately,” a brief statement posted to the Crescenta Valley Town Council’s Instagram Thursday read.

Kilpatrick’s resignation follows the Saturday, March 9, incident. According to Precinct management, the two men were patrons who somehow exited the bar with full cocktails in hand before rounding a corner into a vestibule off the street and into view of security cameras at the employee entrance.
