Miami Beach is not just about the Men. There’s real Culture too.

If you are a regular reader of Queerguru then you’ll know that our Winter Base is Miami Beach Florida and because we just featured  the upcoming Task Force’s Winter Party, you can be forgiven for thinking its all about the men here.  The hot muscle types that is. You would be wrong ….mostly.

We also have a city full of culture that include some of the  finest cultural institutions in the US and they work  together to provide once a month a night of free, unique and unforgettable experiences.

It incudes The New World Symphony Hall a spectacular building designed by genius architect Frank Gehry  which also doubles up as Outdoor Cinema with its Wallcast and SoundScape Park.

The Bass is Miami Beach’s  stunning contemporary art museum.  It sits opposite the glass fronted studios of The Miami City Ballet which are packed most nights with the Corps rehearsing

The Wolfsonian–FIU, a museum. library and research center on the heart of Miami Beach that has a superb collection of Art Deco

Española Way is a charming historic throwback in the heart of South Beach. Conceived as a “historic Spanish village” by NBT Roney in 1925, the two-block corridor between Washington and Pennsylvania Avenues was designed to resemble the romantic Mediterranean villages of Spain and France.

The Miami Design Preservation League (MDPL) whose initial impetus was to find a project to honor the United States’ bicentennial; now helps maintain what is now classified an an art deco historic district

The landmark Colony Theatre at 1040 Lincoln Road in Miami Beach opened January 25, 1935, and is  a superb example of the Art Deco style, and one of the city’s most well-known examples of that style of architecture. In the 1960s, architect, Morris Lapidus, remodeled all of Lincoln Road in the MIMO style of architecture.

Casa Casuarina, also known as the Versace Mansion, is an American property built in 1930, renowned for being owned by and the place of the murder of the Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace; he lived there from 1992 until his death in 1997.. Since 2015, it has been adapted into and operates as a luxury boutique hotel known as The Villa Casa Casuarina
