Melania Trump is totally not envious that Jill Biden & Kamala Harris were on the cover of Vogue

Since President Joe Biden was inaugurated, the right has been attacking Vogue magazine for featuring prominent Democratic women on the cover of their magazine even though they didn’t do the same for prominent Republican women like Melania Trump.

And now Trump is speaking out on how “biased” Vogue is for refusing to have her on the cover of their magazine.

In February 2021, Vice President Kamala Harris was featured on the cover of Vogue. Then First Lady Dr. Jill Biden was on the cover in August 2021, and former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki got a feature in the magazine the same month.

“It exposes the frauds at Vogue,” Fox & Friends co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy ranted at the time. “For four years they failed their readers by deliberately ignoring the most consequential fashion icon in the White House since Jackie O [Melania Trump], while laughably fawning over Jill Biden’s dull Talbots look.”

For the past year, rightwing media has been offended on Trump’s behalf, but Melania Trump is now saying that she’s very not bothered by being snubbed by Vogue.

“They’re biased and they have likes and dislikes, and it’s so obvious,” Melania Trump told Fox Nation‘s Pete Hegseth this weekend. “And I think American people and everyone sees it. It was their decision, and I have much more important things to do – and I did in the White House – than being on the cover of Vogue.”

Last week, a new biography on Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour said that she tried “begrudgingly reached out” to Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump shortly after the 2016 election and visited Trump Tower to meet the family. Melania Trump, who allegedly considered Wintour a friend, was offended that Wintour contacted Ivanka Trump instead of her that she “didn’t even say hello” to Wintour during her visit, according to the book.

According to biographer Amy Odell, Vogue tried to set up a photoshoot with Melania Trump twice – once before Donald Trump’s inauguration in 2017 and once after – but “in part since they wouldn’t guarantee a cover, Melania wouldn’t do it.”

Melania Trump’s former friend Stephanie Winston Wolkoff also mentioned her grudge against Vogue in her September 2020 book.

“I don’t give a f**k about Vogue or any other magazine,” Melania Trump said according to Winston Wolkoff. “They would never put me on the cover. All these people are so mad.”

While conservatives argue that Vogue magazine covers should show political balance, Vogue is a private media company with an audience that it’s targeting, and that target audience apparently leans to the left.

Or, as Wintour put it in a 2019 interview: “If you’re talking about the first lady [Michelle Obama] or Senator [Kamala] Harris, obviously these are women that we feel are icons and inspiring to women from a global perspective. I also feel even more strongly now that this is not a time to try – and I think one has to be fair, one has to look at all sides – but I don’t think it’s a moment not to take a stand… I think you can’t be everything to everybody and I think it’s a time that we live in a world, as you would well know, of fake news… [and] those of us that work at Conde Nast believe that you have to stand up for what you believe in and you have to take a point of view.”

Melania Trump did appear on the cover of Vogue once in February 2005, when she was photographed in her wedding dress as she married her husband.
