Megyn Kelly wants to fight Charlize Theron over drag queens

Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly appears to want to fight actor Charlize Theron over the Academy Award winner and frequent action star’s support of drag queens.

During the recent “Drag Isn’t Dangerous” telethon on May 5, which raised over $500,000 for LGBTQ+ organizations, Theron had some strong words for conservative politicians looking to ban drag performances.

“It’s so strange we talk so much about it. It should be normalized by now.”

“I will f**k anybody up who’s, like, trying to f**k with anything with you guys!” the Atomic Blonde star and mother of a transgender daughter said.

On Friday’s episode of her podcast The Megyn Kelly Show, the conservative commentator responded to Theron’s challenge.

“Why doesn’t Charlize Theron come and f**k me up? Because I’m 100 percent against her on this,” Kelly said of the actor who portrayed her in the 2019 film Bombshell.

“Yes, there’s fun drag queen shows,” Kelly continued. “I’ve been to them. When we lived in Chicago, we went to one, and that was super fun. It was all adults.”

The host went on to claim, citing zero evidence, that “there are drag queen shows out there right now that are deeply disturbing, and they’re happening in front of young children. So know what you’re supporting. Understand what we’re actually seeing out there, which can absolutely include the grooming of young children.”

Such false claims have become distressingly common on the right recently. Fueled by misinformation driven largely by anti-LGBTQ+ social media accounts like Libs of TikTok, conservatives have been on a crusade to mischaracterize family-friendly events like drag queen story hours and drag brunches as “adult entertainment.” That’s led to armed members of far-right hate groups showing up at events to try to intimidate performers and families, while Republican politicians in more than a dozen states have introduced bills aimed at banning drag shows.

“In all seriousness, there are so many things that are hurting and, really, killing our kids, and we all know what I’m talking about right now, and it ain’t no drag queen!” Theron said during her “Drag Isn’t Dangerous” appearance. “If you’ve ever seen a drag queen lip-sync for her life, it only makes you happier, it only makes you love more, it makes you a better person.”
