Mark Hamill apologizes after he accidentally liked one of JK Rowling’s anti-trans tweets

Star Wars actor Mark Hamill has clarified his intent after he liked an offensive tweet from notoriously anti-trans Harry Potter author JK Rowling.

Trans broadcaster India Willoughby recently tweeted, “I’m more of a woman than JK Rowling will ever be.” Rowling then shared a screenshot of the tweet and wrote, “citation needed.”

Hamill then liked Rowling’s tweet, which led to immense Twitter backlash and accusations that he is transphobic. Others, however, came to his defense and gave him the benefit of the doubt, assuming the situation was an accident.

Mark Hamill likes a tweet of J.K. Rowling and the internet loses their minds as usual. Claiming he has done this once before so this isn’t an accident and he obviously supports transphobia.

Even Willoughby came to his defense before he explained himself. “I’m a fan of Mark Hamill,” she wrote. “He’s a good guy. Ignore this crap from @FoxNews – typical Murdoch garbage. Mark’s totally onside with the LGBTs.”
