Lauren Boebert wants to ban people from coming out before 21

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) has been tweeting in support of Florida’s Don’t Say Gay law for some time, but now she’s going a step further and apparently calling for a ban on coming out before the age of 21.

“We require people to be 21 to purchase alcoholic beverages, and 21 to purchase tobacco products,” she tweeted.

“Why is it so unreasonable to require people to reach a certain level of maturity before making life-altering decisions about their sexuality and identity?”

In the replies, people noted that Boebert herself was a high school student when she got pregnant and subsequently dropped out of school. She later married a man who was arrested for exposing himself to women at a bowling alley, where Boebert was present and a minor.

Others pointed out that Boebert doesn’t want to hold guns to the same age restrictions, even though guns are actually dangerous.
