Lauren Boebert says she’s going to boycott “woke” Target because of the store’s Pride merch

Christian conservatives have been increasing their attacks on the retail chain Target because the store is selling LGBTQ+-themed t-shirts and swimsuits in their Pride collection, and now Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is saying that she’ll boycott the store.

“Why support woke corporations that hate you?” she asked. “Target won’t be getting another dollar from me.”

The baseball team was widely criticized for caving to anti-LGBTQ+ pressure to drop the group.

She linked an article from the far-right Daily Caller that described some of Target’s Pride Month offerings. The Daily Caller was particularly offended that Target was selling tucking swimsuits, quoting rightwing “comedian” Chrissie Mayr: “Can’t wait to tuck my c**k into this little number while sipping a Bud Light!”

The article quotes other people who accuse Target of “grooming and indoctrinating children” by selling rainbow-laden clothing.

It has become something of a trend on the right this year to go to Target, look at the Pride merchandise, and then make a video for social media to show how offended one is by t-shirts that say “Live, Laugh, Lesbian” and greeting cards for same-sex couples having weddings. Dozens of prominent conservatives have been doing this, even harassing other customers and asking them if a t-shirt that says “Pride Pride Pride” counts as “pedophilia.”

The Daily Caller even wrote that Target “Deserves The Bud Light Treatment” in the title of its article, a reference to how the right lost its mind when Bud Light sponsored a 50-second video by transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.

On Twitter, people mocked Boebert for getting so angry that a store is selling products that were never intended for her in the first place.
