Everyone remembers where they were when Hilary Duff ended homophobia with her now iconic public service announcement about why it was wrong to call negative things “gay”.

In the original video, which ran on US TV in 2008, Duff overhears two girls discussing clothing items in a shop. One calls the other’s top “gay” to which Duff, the original ally, steps in a puts a stop to the situation.

The actress, who played Disney Channel icon Lizzie McGuire in the early 2000s, has recreated it with the help of Pentatonix’s Scott Hoying and his fiancé, Mark Manio.

In a TikTok that has been viewed more than 200,000 times, the trio lip-sync over the advert’s original audio.
