Flashback Friday  : back in 2016 actor Andrew Keenan-Bolger jumped behind the camera to direct his first short film, collaborating with writer-composer Adam Wachter to tell a story that really pulls at your heartstrings

Sign is a romantic drama about  two men living and working in New York City, who though they lead separate lives, the frequently cross paths at the same subway station. Eventually Ben (Preston Sadleir) works up the courage to say hello to Aaron (John McGinty), and is shocked to discover that Aaron uses sign language to say hello back, because he is deaf.  But that doesnt stop Ben , and soon the two are out to dinner together for their first date which, despite a few communication stumbles, goes very well.

This soon develops with more dates in and out of the bedroom and Ben even learns ASL. Next they move in together and they even meet parents ans we think its perfect, but then we see glimpses of how both men can feel lonely and isolated in certain settings.  Click on the link to know see how it all works put.

Sign actually has no dialogue, or even subtitles and as such sends a powerful message about just how much can be communicated without the spoken word.
