Donald Trump’s psychologist niece warns about his “untreated psychiatric disorders”

Mary Trump, the out lesbian niece of Donald Trump and a clinical psychologist, has a warning about her uncle as he runs for president for a third time.

“This is a person who has untreated psychiatric disorders,” she said on MSNBC’s The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell. “And any untreated disorder of any kind worsens over time, as long as it remains untreated. So, it makes perfect sense that somebody who is as unhealthy as he is, who is under the extraordinary amount of stress he’s under, would have a harder time holding it together cognitively.”

Even Republicans who oppose Donald Trump fall in line eventually.

O’Donnell played a clip from Donald Trump talking about construction in 1999 and then read a recent quote from him: “They come up with faucets where no water comes out. The showers, you stand under a shower and there is no water coming out. And you say, you end up standing there five times longer.”

“What happened to that mind over the last 25 years?” O’Donnell asked.

“Donald was always quite good when he was younger at sticking to a point, he knew certain things about his business,” Mary Trump said. “He was very good at being in the media, and that’s one of the main reasons my grandfather chose him to be his successor, because he had that kind of presence.”

Mary Trump brought up how her uncle’s “target audience” has changed in the last couple of decades. “He used to be focused on becoming a part of New York City’s upper crust inner circle… Now, he appeals to an audience that appreciates the kind of anecdotes about showers that don’t produce water and is full of the kind of invective and hatred that he has now become expert at.”

O’Donnell brought up the stress Donald Trump is under after he lost over $350 million in a civil suit a week ago for fraud. He asked if New York Attorney General Letitia James is driving Donald Trump “absolutely insane” by talking about taking away his real estate assets to get him to pay up.

“She has his number, for sure,” Mary Trump said. “AG James knows better than anybody else that there is nobody else left to hand Donald a blank check anymore, and that’s what keeps him up at night.”
