Could NATHAN LANE & MATT BOMER make the new MID-CENTURY MODERN TV Series a gay Golden Girls?

Like most gay men, I always thought that the cult TV series THE GOLDEN GIRLS was about gay men.  I could always see parts of those four totally wonderful women in so many of my friends and  that made even more of a  a joy to watch episodes over and over again.  Whilst they are part of our memories,  we maybe about to get the next best thing.   MID-CENTURY MANNERS that features actual gay men.

It’s about three best friends  — gay gentlemen of a certain age – who, after an unexpected death, decide to spend their golden years living together in Palm Springs where the wealthiest one lives with his mother. As a chosen family, they prove that no matter how hard things get, there’s always someone around to remind you it would be better if you got your neck done. It has a fabulous star cast with Nathan Lane as Bunny Schneiderman, Matt Bomer as Jerry Frank, Nathan Lee Graham as Arthur Broussard and (the late) Linda Lavin as Sybil Schneiderman, Bunny’s mother.  There is also a veru impressive roster of guest stars that include Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Judd Hirsch, Rhea Perlman Zane Philiips, Richard Kind,  and Billie Lourd etc. 

Hulu has just announced that they have commissioned this new comedy TV series from some very experienced hands.  From Will & Grace creators Max Mutchnick & David Kohan and executive producer Ryan Murphy it will premiere with all ten episodes on March 28, 2025.    We cannot wait.
