Conservative activist deleted from org’s site after raunchy video of him resurfaces

Erstwhile World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) executive and performer Chris DeJoseph, aka “Big Dick Johnson,” has been banished by far-right advocacy group Turning Point USA’s website after video surfaced showing him “performing” a flagrantly sexual act in public.

Before the clip found its way onto the internet on Monday, DeJoseph was the Creative Director of Productions at the virulently anti-LGBTQ+ right-wing organization, responsible for promotions.

The school also tried to ban a Kermit the Frog song.

A check of DeJoseph’s bio on the group’s website now reveals a “404 Error” alert: “You have wandered into something that doesn’t work.” It is unclear what this means for his employment status.

The same could be said for DeJoseph, who joined Turning Point sometime in the last two years after an on-again, off-again history with the WWE and other wrestling organizations as a writer, producer, and sometime performer.

DeJoseph was fired from the WWE after his last stint as lead writer in 2020 when he ran afoul of CEO Vince McMahon.

The former exec’s Turning Point bio had asserted, “After spending 18 years in Liberal Hollywood, Chris wanted to use his talents and experience to join the conservative movement, promote conservative values, and help win the Culture War.”

Left unsaid: DeJoseph’s sex-drenched appearances for the WWE as wrestler “Big Dick Johnson.”

In 2006, DeJoseph was serving as a senior writer/producer with WWE and performing between bouts as the zaftig character, who appeared practically naked and was the butt of fat jokes.

In the offending clip, from the broadcast relaunch of WWE’s Extreme Championship Wrestling franchise that year, DeJoseph, as Johnson, appears with popular wrestler Sandman, known for chugging beers and slamming the cans into his (soon) bloodied forehead.

In the ring, DeJoseph, tipping the scales somewhere north of 250 pounds, sports a bright yellow thong, black bowtie, and matching black boots. As Sandman grips a Thai fighting stick in one hand and drenches his opponent in ropes of white beer foam, DeJoseph strokes the Asian weapon in rhythm. The audience laps the act up.

At least one child is visible in the front row.

While his official bio with Turning Point USA left out DeJoseph’s years with the WWE, the wrestling world’s generally conservative demographic and well-known association with former president Donald Trump would bring right-wing bona fides to any “Culture War” job interview. DeJoseph also served time as development exec for Mark Burnett’s production of short-lived Lucha Underground at MGM.

Over his years in “Liberal Hollywood”, DeJoseph also produced for Big Brother, Kids Say the Darndest Things, Love Island and Paradise Hotel.

Turning Point USA was founded as a conservative campus organization by executive director Charlie Kirk in 2012. The group has been on the frontline of the Culture Wars since, with an annual budget of over $40 million devoted to conservative causes, and prominent advisors like Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’ wife Ginni Thomas.

Turning Point USA’s latest initiative is funding a “parent workgroup” in Florida to train public school librarians on how to follow censorship rules mandated under Gov. Ron DeSantis’ (R) Don’t Say Gay legislation. Those rules purportedly shield children in Florida from representations in books of themes related to sexual orientation and gender identity, which proponents of the law claim are overly sexual topics.
