Bye Bye Super Bowl ….. we should adopt DISCO FOOTBALL as our new National (Queer) Sport

Growing up in the chilly climes of the UK never warmed me to our Sports Teacher at school, who insisted we kick around a football ball on a damp, soggy field for what seemed like hours.  And don’t even get me started on getting coated head to toe in mud for the glory of playing rugby!   It would seem that most people still look back to their time at school as the ‘good old days.  Not this writer, who would have cried off with the excuse of ‘bone spur’ that had worked for people to avoid life, but that wouldn’t cut it with BritTeachers who had probably been ejected from the Armed Forces for being too harsh.

Now all these decades later, I have just discovered that there is now a sport that not only would I positively volunteer for, but I can modestly claim(!) that I would be good at.  It’s called DISCOFOOT and it’s an ingenious combination of football… and dance . We still have to track  down where/when/how it started but we found some great matches found omline.  Whether they be with amateur teams or like our visdeo below with professionals of the Ballet de Lorraine.

Now in our house there will be NO MORE Super Bowl viewings , of Cup Finals. And if only I could find the contact details of my old sports teacher to complain that I feel so deprived.  And bitter.  Still
