Both Trump and DISNEY are building leisure facilities in the UAE where we could be imprisoned or even executed just for being gay

In the unlikely reality that Trump doesn’t end his presidency in Jail (hopefully El  Salvador) he already has several different scenarios for what comes next.  There is the proposed new 80-storey Trump Tower in Dubai ; the Trump International Golf Club in the massive coastal Simaisma project located north of Doha, and only he (and maybe GOD?) knows what he plans to do on the Gaza strip.  From where we are sitting, all three have something in common: that they are all violently anti-LGBTQA+ countries.  I guess they expect EVERYONE to match up to the high moral standards that our heterosexual President practices 

In Dubai, Article 177 of the Penal Code imposes imprisonment of up to 10 years for consensual sodomy, flogging, or even execution. Same-sex behavior, transgender identity, and LGBT advocacy are illegal. Public displays of affection, pregnancy outside marriage (including same-sex marriage), and wearing an LGBT lanyard are also considered illegal

In Doha (Qatar) Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people experience legal persecution. Same sex acts carry a punishment for both Muslims and non-Muslims of up to three years in prison.  Abuse such as beatings and torture, and forced “conversion therapy” have also been used by police and other authorities.

Homosexuality in Palestine is considered a taboo subject; lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people experience persecution and violence.  In 1950, same-sex acts were decriminalized across the territory with the adoption of the Jordanian Penal Code of 1951. BUT In the Egyptian-occupied Gaza Strip and under Hamas‘ rule, however, no such initiative was implemented.

Sadly its not just the  greedy Trump family that will happily throw the queer community under the bus to make a quick buck. Just weeks after we lauded DISNEY for being one of the few major companes who kept their DEI policies despite threats from DeSantis they drop this news.  They have announced plans to open a theme park in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) where homosexuality can actually be punished with the death penalty. 

Gay sex is illegal for men and women in the UAE and punishment includes imprisonment, chemical castration, flogging, fines, deportation and, in rare circumstances, execution – usually by firing squad. There is also no legal recognition of same-sex relationships or trans people.
