American Horror Story confirms slate of gay icons for new season

The first members of the American Horror Story season 11 cast have been unveiled, with fresh faces and genuine icons joining old favourites.

Teen Wolf star Charlie Carver will be joining the long-running anthology, fresh from his turn in The Batman.

Carver, who previously worked with American Horror Story boss Ryan Murphy on Ratched, has already been spotted filming, with set pictures revealing his character will share a queer romance with Isaac Powell, who joined the cast in season 10.

Digital Spy confirmed filming for the upcoming season is taking place in Manhattan’s West Village.

Carver and Powell will be joined by returning faces Zachary Quinto, Billie Lourd, and the iconic Patti LuPone.

Quinto starred in the first two season of American Horror Story, LuPone the third, while Lourd has been a staple since season seven.

Collider confirmed that Pose’s Sandra Bernhard and Angels in America star Joe Mantello will also join the cast.

There have also been unconfirmed rumours, reported by Grazia, that Lindsay Lohan will join the cast.

Will Sarah Paulson be in American Horror Story 11?

Fans are keeping their fingers crossed that Sarah Paulson will also return.

She’s not yet been confirmed for the new season, but has only missed on run (season nine) since the show began.

However, Paulson admitted in August that she is considering taking a step back from the series.

Speaking to Variety, Paulson said: “It’s not that I’m not open to it. I’m always open to it, but I feel like I’ve been doing it for a long time, and people might start getting sick of me in that world.

“Let someone else scream and run and cry for a second. Other people can do that too! Also, my nervous system.

“There was a time when I was younger when I was like, ‘I can do this all night. I love it!’ Now I’m like, ‘momma’s tired!’.”

She added: “Never say never, but I’m sort of in this new space of seeing what comes and not pre-planning, which is very unlike me!”

American Horror Story is famed for its star-studded casts, with Macaulay Culkin making an appearance in American Horror Story: Double Feature in 2021.
