Unfortunately, not many of us are taught LGBTQ history in schools… and there is so much of it. Whether local, national, political, or cultural, LGBTQ history is rich and powerful and well worth exploring if you want to feel a little more connected to your community.

There are so many worthwhile LGBTQ causes out there that need your help. Giving back is not only beneficial to the people you serve; it will also make you feel great. Plus, it’s a fantastic way to build community.

Reach out to an LGBTQ loved one

If you have an LGBTQ friend or family member that could use more support this year, commit to reaching out to them a few times a week or month (depending on what you feel is appropriate) to ensure they know someone is thinking of them and cares for them deeply.

Speak up for trans people ACLU

The transgender community is under attack by Republican-led state legislatures determined to take away their rights. This year, commit to calling a representative, attending a protest, making a donation, or taking some other action to support the fight for trans lives.
